In my quest to live a healthier life, exercise more, eat better, etc., I’ve recently come across what some people are calling a “super food”. When I first heard about it, it took me back to my childhood years when back in El Salvador, I would eat gealtinous foods and fruits which I found extremely good but didn’t understand what any of it did for me, if anything. Therefore, I wasn’t afraid to try it and actually looked forward to it because it brought back a childhood memory which I would love to re-live!

I’m talking about Chia seeds. According to experts and researchers (which I’m not), these seeds have a high content of different things our bodies need and can help us prevent certain diseases. Whether this is true or not, I can’t say. What I can say is, being that it is a natural food, it wouldn’t hurt to try it and the way it is explained, it makes a lot of sense. How many foods do you eat that when they are moist, swell up and turn gelatin like? Apparently, that’s where the magic in this food is.

I started eating the seeds about a week ago and quite honestly, haven’t felt any different but that does not mean it’s not doing anything for me. Additionally, one week might be too little time to really measure its health benefits. Nonetheless, I wanted to share this information with my readers so that if it makes sense to you and you’d like to add Chia seeds to your diet, you can do so.
