NFT’s Here is what I know

If you’re like me, you’re intrigued by NFTs. What are they? What do they do? How do I make some? I will try to answer some of these questions here but please note, I’m not giving you advice as I’m just learning myself but if you don’t know anything about NFTs, this is a good starting point.

Many people are making a ton of money selling NFTs through the various platforms. I’m not a whiz on the subject but I’m very interested in getting into them. As I am typing this article, I’m waiting for the first NFT project I ordered from www.fiverr.com . I am hoping to at least make enough to pay the gas fees from the sale of some NFTs. But wait, what are gas fees? Gas fees are what you pay to have the NFT minted.

Okay let’s back up. First of all, just so you know, pretty much anything can be turned into an NFT, that awesome picture of a wall you took, that cool baby laugh MP3 you have. As long as you own it and no one else has it, you can turn it into an NFT. There are a lot of ways to mint that picture, MP3 or short video into an NFT. The bad thing is that most of the cost a LOT of money and most of the time you have to pay it up front. Luckily for people like me, there are sites where you can sort of halfway mint the NFT. What do I mean by this, well, the website or company actually begins the process for you, an NFT requires a presence on the blockchain just like Crypto currency does. So the company sets everything you need to be able to list your pretty NFT on the blockchain for you to possibly sell. No fees charged. However, the thing is that if your NFT sells, then you owe the site a percentage, about 2.5% of the amount the NFT was purchased for. This is much better than paying for something that you don’t know if it will sell or not ahead of time.

After doing a lot of research, I came across a website which is what I’m using but no luck yet on any sales but I’m a newbie. Still trying different things and I have a cool collection coming out soon. The site is https://mintable.app/ and they do everything I just mentioned so it’s a great starting point to learn more about NFTs and then take your knowledge elsewhere should you wish. Here is my profile if you want to check out my NFTs currently, again, just staring and am learning https://mintable.app/u/pabloant

Well, that’s about it for now, please follow me on Twitter and send me any questions there. I’m constantly researching this stuff and will be sharing more things as I learn them on Twitter and once I have enough material, I’ll be back here to write another post.
